My father was a Hebrew purist, he forbade any other language to be spoken at home. The only way for me to communicate with my grandmother was therefor singing songs in Ladino, She passed away when I was 12 and it took me 18 years before I visited her city for the first time, Fez, Morocco. Walking down a narrow street I heard a familiar melody behind me, people were singing and I made way towards the sound. Eventually I arrived at a square where 500-600 people were all singing a song that my grandmother used to sing to me as a child. At that moment I realised I got to do something with this music, so I made a new album! And this is where you come in.
